Rallio Privacy Policy
Rallio helps tennis players track matches, build a tennis profile, discover courts, analyse tennis activity, and share match moments with friends. This Privacy Policy explains how Rallio collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use our app, website, and related services. In this policy, "Rallio", "we", "us", and "our" means Rallio and the people or service providers who operate Rallio on our behalf.
Summary
Rallio collects the information needed to run a tennis tracking and social activity app. This can include your account details, profile, match records, court activity, social actions, device information, and, where you choose to use video features, analysis results and any videos you add to a post. Video recording and analysis features are optional. Match analysis runs on your device: when you analyse a match, the video is processed on your iPhone and is not uploaded to Rallio for analysis. Only the derived results — such as your shot map, ball-placement and bounce estimates, and run statistics — sync to Rallio; the original video stays on your device. Separately, if you add a video to a social post, that video is uploaded to Rallio so we can host and show it as part of your post. Rallio may also give you the choice to contribute recordings or derived clips to help improve our tennis analysis technology; this is optional. We do not use your recordings for model training unless you choose to contribute them or we otherwise clearly tell you and have a lawful basis to do so. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use facial recognition to identify people in your videos. Rallio is a tennis analysis and activity tracking service, not an official line-calling, umpiring, medical, betting, or tournament decision system.
Information we collect: account and profile
When you create or use a Rallio account, we may collect information such as your name, username, email address, profile photo or avatar, account settings, tennis profile information, player preferences, visibility settings, subscription or entitlement status, and the support requests and messages you send us. If you sign in using Apple, Google, or another identity provider, we receive the information that provider shares with us according to your settings and their terms.
Information we collect: tennis activity
Rallio is built around tennis activity, so we collect information such as match records, scores and score events, point-by-point information, session type, match format, court selections, opponents, partners, or tagged friends, notes, tags, and match summaries, history and statistics, and the court, profile, and activity data you choose to save or share.
Information we collect: social and community
If you use Rallio's social features, we may collect information such as posts and shared match activity, comments, cheers, reactions, and similar actions, follows, friends, blocks, and reports, profile visibility settings, content moderation signals, and abuse, safety, or community-guideline reports. Content you choose to post or share may be visible to other users according to your settings and the feature you use.
Information we collect: video recordings and media
If you choose to use Rallio's recording, upload, video review, or analysis features, we may collect tennis video recordings you upload, clips or frames extracted from recordings, thumbnails and preview images, basic file metadata such as duration, format, size, and upload time, technical processing metadata, and analysis results derived from the recording. Analysis results may include estimated court context, ball placement, rally events, bounce or contact estimates, shot maps, confidence labels, timestamps, and similar tennis analytics. Your recordings may show other people, including opponents, partners, coaches, spectators, people on nearby courts, or venue staff; you are responsible for making sure you have the rights, permissions, and consent needed to record and upload footage.
If you contribute footage for model improvement (optional, future)
Rallio may, in the future, offer an optional way for you to contribute recordings, clips, frames, analysis results, or labels to help us develop, test, train, validate, and improve our tennis analysis models and related safety systems. This is not active today: there is currently no model-training program running on your uploads and no in-app way to contribute footage. If we offer such a program and you choose to take part, the information used could include uploaded tennis recordings, short clips or frames, court, ball, player, shot, bounce, and rally labels, model confidence results, human review labels, and technical metadata needed to train, test, or validate the system. If we run such a program, we intend to apply safeguards such as muting audio, cropping to the court, blurring faces or bystanders, using pseudonymous dataset IDs, limiting access, and separating training data from account data where practical; these are intended future safeguards, not controls that operate today. You can use Rallio without contributing footage for model improvement.
Information we collect: device and technical
We may collect technical information needed to operate and improve the service, such as device type, operating system, app version, browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, crash logs, performance logs, analytics events, feature usage, notification tokens, and security logs. We use this information to keep Rallio reliable, secure, and useful.
Information we collect: location and courts
Rallio may collect court selections, court names, and location-related information you provide when tracking or saving tennis activity. If Rallio offers device location features, such as nearby court discovery, we will ask for permission through your device settings where required. You can disable device location permissions through your device settings.
Information we collect: payments and third parties
If you purchase a subscription or in-app purchase through Apple, Google, or another payment provider, that provider processes your payment information; Rallio does not receive your full card details from app store payment providers. We may receive your subscription status, product purchased, renewal and cancellation status, transaction identifiers, and entitlement information so we can provide paid features. We may also receive information from service providers or integrations that help us operate Rallio, such as identity providers, app stores, analytics tools, cloud infrastructure providers, customer-support tools, and safety or abuse-prevention services. Rallio does not currently use health data for medical diagnosis.
How we use information
We use information to operate, provide, improve, and protect Rallio. This includes creating and managing your account, saving your tennis history, tracking scores and match activity, generating player profiles and statistics, providing court and activity features, showing social feed activity, enabling comments, cheers, sharing, blocking, and reporting, sending notifications you choose to receive, computing shot maps, highlights, analytics, and confidence labels on your device and syncing those results to your account, hosting videos you add to social posts, providing support, debugging issues and improving performance, preventing spam, abuse, fraud, and unsafe behaviour, enforcing our Terms, Community Guidelines, and policies, complying with legal obligations, and developing and improving Rallio's features, including tennis analysis models where you have chosen to contribute eligible footage. We only use personal information for the purposes described in this policy, purposes that are obvious at the time you provide the information, or purposes otherwise permitted by law.
Video uploads and analysis
Video analysis features are optional. Match analysis runs on your device: the analysis is performed on your iPhone using automated systems that estimate tennis-related context such as the court, the ball, rally events, ball placement, shot timing, possible bounces or contacts, match context, highlight moments, and confidence levels. Only the results and related metadata — such as your estimated shot map, ball-placement and bounce estimates, court calibration, and run statistics (for example processing time and the model version used) — are synced to Rallio; the original match video stays on your device and is not uploaded to Rallio for analysis. Separately, when you add a video to a social post, that video itself is uploaded to and stored on Rallio's servers so we can host and show it as part of your post. Some older activity in your account may include recordings that were processed on Rallio's servers under a previous, now-retired upload-for-analysis flow; new match analysis runs on your device only. Rallio analyses the ball, the court, and play — not the identity of people — and we do not use facial recognition or build biometric profiles from your videos. Rallio's analysis may be incomplete or inaccurate: tennis videos can be affected by camera angle, lighting, occlusion, motion blur, distance, shadows, adjacent courts, and other factors. For that reason Rallio may use confidence labels and safety limits; estimated shot maps and placements are for training insight only and are not official line calls, and Rallio does not provide official line calling, umpiring decisions, exact ball speed, exact spin, or tournament-grade decisions.
Optional model improvement
Rallio's long-term goal is to build high-quality tennis analysis features. To do that, we may ask users to help improve Rallio by contributing tennis recordings or derived clips for model improvement. This contribution is optional, and no such program is active today. If you choose to contribute eligible footage, Rallio may use that footage and related analysis data to train computer vision models, test model accuracy, validate new tennis analysis features, improve court, ball, rally, bounce, contact, and shot detection, build safer confidence thresholds, review model errors, create internal datasets for tennis analytics development, and improve product quality and reliability. We may also use human reviewers or contractors to label or review contributed footage; where we do this, reviewers must follow confidentiality, access, and data-handling restrictions. If we run such a program, we would aim to reduce privacy risk with safeguards that could include muting or removing audio where it is not needed, cropping to the tennis court where practical, limiting use of footage with prominent bystanders, blurring faces or non-player areas where practical, using pseudonymous dataset IDs rather than account names, limiting access to approved team members or service providers, logging access to sensitive systems, separating raw video storage from training datasets, and excluding footage that is not suitable for model improvement. Match analysis itself runs on your device and does not depend on this contribution. Where this contribution option is not yet available in your version of Rallio, or you do not choose to contribute, your footage is not used to train Rallio's general tennis analysis models.
Withdrawing model improvement consent
If you have chosen to contribute footage for model improvement, you may withdraw that choice by reaching us through our contact page at https://www.rallio.lol/contact (or using in-app settings where available). After withdrawal, we will take reasonable steps to remove your contributed recordings and derived training samples from future training datasets. Because machine learning models may already have been trained using earlier datasets, it may not always be technically practical to remove the influence of a specific item of data from a model that has already been trained; in that case, we will stop using the withdrawn data in future training runs and apply the withdrawal to future datasets and model-development processes.
Other people in recordings
Tennis recordings may include other people. Before recording or uploading footage, you must make sure you have the right to do so, which may include getting consent from opponents, partners, coaches, parents or guardians, clubs, venues, tournament organisers, or other people depending on the situation. You should not upload recordings that were recorded secretly where people reasonably expected privacy, breach court, club, school, tournament, or venue rules, include children without appropriate parent or guardian permission, include private conversations that should not be shared, are used to harass, shame, abuse, or identify another person without permission, or include people in a way that violates our Terms or Community Guidelines. If someone believes a recording on Rallio includes them and should not be available, they can reach us through our contact page at https://www.rallio.lol/contact, and we may remove, restrict, or disable access to recordings where appropriate.
Children and junior players
Rallio is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age without appropriate permission. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Rallio without proper consent, reach us through our contact page at https://www.rallio.lol/contact and we will take appropriate steps to review and remove it. If a recording includes a junior player or other child, you must have the required permission from a parent or guardian before uploading it. Rallio may restrict or exclude recordings involving children from optional model improvement programs unless appropriate consent and safeguards are in place.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted service providers to help us operate Rallio, which may include providers for cloud hosting, storage, video processing, analytics, crash reporting, security, authentication, notifications, payments and subscriptions, customer support, content moderation, and model development, testing, or labelling where you have chosen to contribute eligible footage; these providers may use information only to provide services to Rallio or as otherwise permitted by law. Information you choose to share through Rallio's social or community features may be visible to other users, including your profile, match activity, posts, comments, cheers, shared clips, and other information depending on your settings and the feature you use.
Legal, safety, and business transfers
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or a government request; enforce our Terms, Community Guidelines, or policies; detect, prevent, or respond to fraud, security, or technical issues; protect the rights, safety, or property of Rallio, users, or others; or investigate abuse, harassment, or misuse of the service. If Rallio is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, sale of assets, or similar transaction, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and we will take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected. We may also share information in other ways if you ask us to or give us permission.
Overseas storage and processing
Rallio may store and process information using cloud infrastructure and service providers located in Australia or other countries. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live. Where we use service providers, we take reasonable steps to use providers that apply confidentiality, security, and data-protection measures appropriate for the services they provide.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information. These may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication, logging, backups, least-privilege access, and security monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorisation.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Rallio, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and operate our business. In general, account information is kept while your account is active; match records and tennis history are kept so you can view them in the app; uploaded recordings are kept while they remain in your account, unless deleted earlier; analysis results are kept so you can revisit your history and analytics; logs and security records are kept for a limited period where needed for reliability, debugging, security, or legal reasons; and optional model improvement data may be retained for model development, testing, validation, audit, and safety purposes, unless you withdraw consent and we are required or able to delete or exclude it from future use. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise, or de-identify it. Some deleted information may remain temporarily in backups or archives before being overwritten according to our backup cycles.
Account deletion
You can request account deletion through Account & Settings or by reaching us through our contact page at https://www.rallio.lol/contact. When your account is deleted, we take steps to delete or anonymise account-linked personal information, including profile information, active sessions, notification records, social records, and owned uploaded media, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legitimate business purposes. Some content you shared with others may remain visible in a deleted, anonymised, or limited form if removal would affect other users' records or conversations, but we will aim to remove your account identity from that content.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the features you use, you may be able to update your profile, change profile visibility, manage notification preferences, choose whether to upload recordings, delete recordings, block or report users, request an export (a copy) of your information, request correction of inaccurate information, and request account deletion. Where the feature is available, you may also be able to choose whether to contribute footage for model improvement, or withdraw that contribution. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. To exercise these choices or privacy rights, use the app where available or reach us through our contact page at https://www.rallio.lol/contact; we may need to verify your identity before responding to certain requests. If you have a privacy concern we have not resolved, you can also complain to a privacy regulator, such as the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and website analytics
If you visit Rallio's website, we may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the site, understand usage, improve performance, and protect against abuse. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some website features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
Third-party links and services
Rallio may link to third-party websites, services, app stores, clubs, venues, or integrations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy, and you should review the privacy policy of any third-party service you use.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting the updated policy in the app or on our website, updating the date above, or sending a notice where appropriate. If a future feature uses personal information in a materially different way, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent or provide additional choices.
